During the meeting, the mutual interest in establishing collaborative links became evident.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A delegation from Research Councils UK<\/em> (United Kingdom) and members of the British Embassy met with representatives of the Council of Rectors to exchange views regarding the development of scientific research, the current institutional framework, forms of financing and international collaboration.<\/p>\n

The delegation consisted of Michael Bright, from Research Councils UK<\/em> and academics from various fields: Helen Beadman, from the environment; Terry Mawby, from science and technology; Lewis Preece, from economics and social sciences; and Louisa Rahemtulla, from medicine. Representing the British Embassy were Hayley Baker, Angela Viola-Glapinska, and Karl Zammit-Maempel. Meanwhile, representing the Council of Rectors were Alicia Salomone, from the University of Chile; Gilda Carrasco, from the University of Talca; Marcos Avilez, from the Catholic University of Valpara\u00edso; Hans Richter, from the Austral University; Mar\u00eda Teresa Marshall, executive director of the Council of Rectors; and Mariana Gonz\u00e1lez, Head of Studies at the Council of Rectors.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, which showcased the characteristics, attributes, and challenges of the CRUCH universities in the areas of research and internationalization, a mutual interest in establishing collaborative ties was evident. This interest is reflected in the innovative strategies being implemented in the United Kingdom in the field of doctoral training, as well as the focus on the quality of research at Chilean universities.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the Research Councils UK<\/em> It is a strategic entity in defining the objectives, development, and impact of scientific research in the United Kingdom, as well as in training and disseminating knowledge. It is a UK research organization of excellence and renown, both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n

He Research Councils UK<\/em> It addresses, through specific advice, the broad spectrum of academic disciplines, such as medicine, biological sciences, astronomy, physics, chemistry, engineering, social sciences, economics, environmental sciences, arts and humanities.<\/p>\n

Visit of CRUCH universities to the United Kingdom<\/h4>\n

The meeting with the delegation of Research Councils UK<\/em> It is part of several initiatives promoted by the International Relations Commission of the Council of Rectors with the British Embassy to promote collaboration between CRUCH universities and their counterparts in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Among the main activities planned for this year is the academic mission that representatives from 16 CRUCH universities will undertake to the United Kingdom at the end of April, with the aim of strengthening academic collaboration in research and doctoral training. This mission includes visits to various British universities, as well as a joint seminar between the Chilean delegation and local universities to address innovation in doctoral training.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
