The graduate of the Design program at Austral University of Chile (UACh)<\/a>, won first place in the national competition \u201cMake history with your design\u201d and his proposal was implemented in all CRUCH formats and platforms.<\/p>\n

The young designer shared some aspects of her creative experience, the collaborative work with the General Secretariat team and her vision on the CRUCH's articulating role in higher education.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At the beginning of January 2026, the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) experienced a historic moment: the complete implementation of its new visual identity in all its communication formats and platforms.<\/p>\n

\"\"The renovation was achieved thanks to national competition \u201cMake history with your design: New CRUCH Brand Image\u201d<\/a>, In this competition, Danae Solervicens, a graduate of the Design program at the Austral University of Chile (UACh), won first place with her proposal, \u201cModular Network for Territorial Development.\u201d Her design represents the institutional connection of the 30 universities that make up the Council, conceived as a network that articulates knowledge, communities, and territories.<\/p>\n

The awards ceremony<\/a>, The event, held on October 17, 2025, at UACh, brought together university authorities, faculty, family, and friends, highlighting the young woman's talent and creativity. Months after this milestone, and after seeing her proposal implemented across all CRUCH materials, Danae shares her experience, reflecting on the creative process, the collaborative work with the Communications Area team of the Council's General Secretariat to implement the brand image, and her perspective on CRUCH's role in the higher education system.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Now that some time has passed since you won first place in the CRUCH competition, what does this achievement mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Several months after winning the competition, I remain incredibly grateful for the opportunity and the trust placed in my work. It has been an intense and demanding process, requiring a high level of dedication and effort. This experience has given me a much clearer understanding of the value of my professional work and the impact a well-constructed visual identity can have across different media and contexts.<\/p>\n

\u2013 How would you describe your experience collaborating on the implementation of the new visual identity of CRUCH?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My experience working with the CRUCH communications team was very positive. I especially appreciate their willingness to engage in dialogue, their patience, and the collaborative work that was evident throughout the entire process. It was a constant exercise in joint reflection to define solutions that not only met the aesthetic requirements but were also practical, versatile, and usable by the team in the future. I thoroughly enjoyed working with them and deeply value their professionalism and the quality of their people; I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u2013 Your design has been applied to the various communication platforms and media of CRUCH, what do you think about this?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am proud of the project's development and believe it successfully implemented and adapted the identity across different media. I sincerely hope the final result meets CRUCH's expectations and contributes positively to its institutional communication.<\/p>\n

\u2013 After learning more about the work that CRUCH does, what is your view of the Council?<\/strong><\/p>\n

From my position as a designer, my role was primarily focused on developing the visual identity. Even so, based on the content and guidelines shared during the process, I could appreciate that CRUCH fulfills a complex, coordinating, and fundamental role within the higher education system, bringing together multiple stakeholders and perspectives.<\/p>\n

About the professional<\/strong><\/p>\n

Danae Solervicens graduated in November 2025 with a degree in Design from the Austral University of Chile and to date has participated in visual identity projects, the development of institutional material and the editorial production of educational material, as well as the ideation and production of accessible resources for blind people.<\/p>\n

Regarding his vision of design, he considers it to be "a tool for communication and mediation, in which collaborative and multidisciplinary work is fundamental to developing coherent, useful and meaningful proposals.".<\/p>\n

The recently graduated professional says her work \u201cfocuses on transforming abstract ideas into clear and functional visual solutions, integrating graphic and industrial design tools according to the requirements of each project.\u201d To achieve this, she combines manual and physical processes with digital tools, seeking to enhance the qualities of the environment in every commission.<\/p>\n

Finally, she comments that "I am particularly interested in human-centered design, incorporating accessibility criteria and developing tactile experiences based on texture.".<\/p>\n
