{"id":1312,"date":"2013-11-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-11-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2022-01-20T14:42:15","modified_gmt":"2022-01-20T14:42:15","slug":"603c6d80771fd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consejoderectores.cl\/en\/2013\/11\/26\/603c6d80771fd\/","title":{"rendered":"Meeting between universities of Chile and Argentina to strengthen collaboration"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>The Association of Southern Andean Universities of Argentina (AUSA) met with the universities of the Council of Rectors with the purpose of identifying areas of interest for international collaboration.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A meeting was held last Friday at the Argentine Embassy in Chile, attended by representatives from the National Universities of Cuyo, San Juan, San Luis, and Comahue from Argentina, and the following Chilean universities: Austral, Talca, La Serena, Concepci\u00f3n, Bio Bio, Los Lagos, Catholic University of Maule, Valpara\u00edso, Chile, Catholic University of the North, Metropolitan University of Educational Sciences, and Catholic University of the Holy Conception. Teresa Vega, Rector of the University of Comahue, was also present.<\/p>\n<p>Both Chilean and Argentine representatives expressed their intention to deepen and strengthen institutional ties, recognizing that this is a time to reinforce Latin American relations. \u201cWe share a long history with Chile, predating the formation of our nation-states,\u201d Vega noted.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal shared between AUSA and the universities of the Council of Rectors of Chile is the development of an academic space for scientific and cultural cooperation through academic conferences and mobility programs for both students and faculty. AUSA brings together the regional universities of Argentina, which together have more than 170,000 students, and has defined itself as a collaborative workspace for exchange and partnership.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from the CRUCH universities appreciated the invitation, recognizing the great potential for collaboration represented by the universities in southern Argentina, which are located along the entire border, and the growing interest of students in undertaking academic experiences with the neighboring country.<\/p>\n<p>The parties committed to promoting an agreement that facilitates the development of joint academic activities within a framework of reciprocity and collaboration.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La Asociaci\u00f3n de Universidades Sur Andina de Argentina (AUSA) se reuni\u00f3 con las universidades del Consejo de Rectores con el prop\u00f3sito de identificar \u00e1reas de inter\u00e9s para una colaboraci\u00f3n internacional.
