{"id":1302,"date":"2013-10-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-10-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2022-01-20T15:32:40","modified_gmt":"2022-01-20T15:32:40","slug":"603c6d8076b25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consejoderectores.cl\/en\/2013\/10\/24\/603c6d8076b25\/","title":{"rendered":"Council of Rectors analyzes 2014 Admission Process in conjunction with MINEDUC"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Together with the Minister of Education, Carolina Schmidt, the university rectors reviewed the process, including what has happened so far with the Ranking of Grades.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, figures were provided regarding the registration of the Technical Professional modality for the Science test.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Council of Rectors, together with the Minister of Education, Carolina Schmidt, analyzed the debate of the last few months regarding the Ranking of Grades, establishing that the 2014 process will not undergo modifications with respect to what was announced by the CRUCH.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Secretary of State made some requests regarding potential future modifications to the process in the coming years. The university rectors agreed to create a commission to analyze the implementation of the pure ranking system, including its timing and methodology, and indicated that they hope to have the support of the Ministry of Education in addressing these issues.<\/p>\n<p>At the plenary meeting, held at the Federico Santa Mar\u00eda Technical University, the following were also present: Gonzalo Navarrete, president of the Education Commission of the Chilean Association of Municipalities, Guillermo Scherping, representative of the Teachers&#039; Association, Diego Vela, president of the Federation of Students of the Catholic University, and Mois\u00e9s Paredes and Vicente Correa, from the National Coordinator of Secondary Students.<\/p>\n<p>The group expressed its support for the incorporation of the Grade Ranking into the university admission process, noting that it is a measure that contributes to the inclusion of outstanding students who until now did not have the possibility of accessing the higher education institutions that participate in the Unified Admission System.<\/p>\n<h4>System news<\/h4>\n<p>The executive director of the Unified Admission System (SUA), Mar\u00eda Elena Gonz\u00e1lez, announced the number of students registered for the Science exam who opted for the new Technical-Professional track.
