{"id":1287,"date":"2013-08-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-08-22T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2022-01-20T19:06:31","modified_gmt":"2022-01-20T19:06:31","slug":"603c6d8076038","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consejoderectores.cl\/en\/2013\/08\/22\/603c6d8076038\/","title":{"rendered":"The Unified Admission System of the Council of Rectors will include private universities, students, and representatives from the Ministry of Education in its Advisory Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">This invitation helps to shape the structure of the Unified University Admission System, which will also have the technical advice of a Committee of national and foreign Experts and a coordination commission with representatives from the 33 participating universities in the system, which administers the University Selection Test.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">In a meeting with rectors and representatives of the eight private universities that are part of the Single Admission System (SUA) of the Council of Rectors (CRUCH), its executive director, Mar\u00eda Elena Gonz\u00e1lez, announced the objectives of this new institutional framework.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In this context, he invited private universities to participate in an Advisory Committee, which will provide guidance and proposals for improving aspects of the university admissions process. Students and members of the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) will also be invited to participate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The meeting was attended by the rectors Pedro Uribe of Andr\u00e9s Bello University, Cristi\u00e1n Nazer of Finis Terrae University, and Federico Vald\u00e9s of the University of Development, as well as representatives from Diego Portales, Alberto Hurtado, Mayor, Adolfo Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez, and Los Andes universities. Representing the Council of Rectors were Juan Manuel Zolezzi, executive vice president of CRUCH, and Jaime Espinoza, rector of the Metropolitan University of Educational Sciences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Advisory Committee will be composed of the executive director of the Unified Admission System, the director of the Department of Educational Evaluation, Measurement, and Registration (DEMRE) at the University of Chile, three academic vice-rectors from the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), and one academic vice-rector from private universities. In addition, in the coming days, a representative from the Curriculum and Evaluation Unit and another from the Studies Unit of the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC), a representative from the Quality Assurance Agency, and a representative from the Superintendency of Education will be invited.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As permanent guests, a representative from the Confederation of Students of Chile (CONFECH) and two representatives of secondary school students will be included.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\">Committee with international experts<\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">This body, which is an integral part of the new SUA (University Admission System), will be joined by a committee of experts comprised of two international and four national specialists, all of recognized prestige. This is in order to \u201cpropose continuous improvement to both the PSU (University Selection Test) and all the instruments involved in the admissions process.
