These are two committees that will establish a timeline for improvements to the PSU (University Selection Test) and the Grade Ranking system, which will be evaluated by university rectors at their next meeting. In addition, a working group will develop a proposal to introduce changes to the Indirect Fiscal Contribution.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Council of Rectors established two committees to examine and propose a timeline for improvements to university admissions instruments: the University Selection Tests (PSU) and the Grade Ranking. The proposals will be evaluated by the full Council of Rectors on April 25.<\/p>\n

In addition to these committees, a third working group will develop a proposal for changes to the Indirect Fiscal Contribution.<\/p>\n

After the commissions are formed, they have a period of three weeks to set short, medium and long-term agendas, in order to continue their work during the following months.<\/p>\n

The Ranking Commission is made up of the Vice-Rector of the Catholic University, Guillermo Marshall and coordinator of the working group; Francisco Javier Gil, advisor on inclusion policies of UNESCO, Catholic University and University of Santiago; Eduardo Rodr\u00edguez, director of the Department of Educational Evaluation, Measurement and Registration (DEMRE) of the University of Chile; and Mariana Gonz\u00e1lez, in charge of Studies of CRUCH.<\/p>\n

Also in attendance were professionals Jorge Hern\u00e1ndez, head of the Studies and Research Unit of DEMRE; Uwe Kramp, member of said unit; and Claudio Vargas, head of the History Commission of DEMRE.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the commission that will analyze changes to the University Selection Tests will be made up of Mar\u00eda Elena Gonz\u00e1lez, an academic from the University of Tarapac\u00e1, who will coordinate the group; Juan Manuel Zolezzi, rector of the University of Santiago and executive vice president of CRUCH; Jorge Manzi, member of the Technical Advisory Committee and director of MIDE UC; Patricio Aceituno, vice-rector of Academic Affairs of the University of Chile; Mariana Gonz\u00e1lez from CRUCH and Eduardo Rodr\u00edguez, from DEMRE.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Education representatives are yet to be determined. Those attending this first meeting included Juan Jos\u00e9 Ugarte, Head of the Higher Education Division (DIVESUP) of the Ministry of Education, and Jorge Hern\u00e1ndez, Uwe Kramp, and Claudio Vargas from DEMRE.<\/p>\n

The Ranking Committee's first steps will include conducting simulations to assess how to enhance the impact of this tool on the admissions process. Both committees have finalized their meeting schedules for the next two weeks.<\/p>\n
