{"id":1233,"date":"2013-03-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-03-13T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2022-01-21T18:50:18","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T18:50:18","slug":"603c6d8073a03","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consejoderectores.cl\/en\/2013\/03\/13\/603c6d8073a03\/","title":{"rendered":"Executive Director of CRUCH meets with Rector of University of Edinburgh"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>The meeting is part of the Scottish university&#039;s interest in strengthening ties with Latin American institutions and promoting multilateral exchange of knowledge and networks.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>With the aim of identifying common interests in the field of internationalization, the Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh, Prof. Sir Timothy O&#039;Shea, met with the Chief Executive of the Council of Rectors, Maria Teresa Marshall.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, Rector O&#039;Shea expressed the University of Edinburgh&#039;s interest in strengthening its ties with Chilean institutions, which is part of the work the institution will carry out through its Office for the Americas, based in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of this office is to build alliances and partnerships in the areas of teaching, research, and knowledge exchange among institutions. Furthermore, this institution aims to foster dialogue and discussion not only with universities, but also with institutions in the Latin American business and cultural spheres.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the University of Edinburgh&#039;s interest focuses on increasing research collaboration, generating joint academic programs with Latin American institutions, and the multilateral exchange of knowledge and networks.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1583, is ranked 21st worldwide in the QS ranking of universities.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El encuentro se enmarca en el inter\u00e9s de la casa de estudios escocesa en estrechar lazos con instituciones latinoamericanas y promover el intercambio multilateral de conocimiento y redes.
