{"id":1225,"date":"2013-03-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-03-07T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2022-01-21T18:54:13","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T18:54:13","slug":"603c6d807349a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consejoderectores.cl\/en\/2013\/03\/07\/603c6d807349a\/","title":{"rendered":"Council of Rectors will commission three technical reports to evaluate changes to the PSU"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>The plenary session of rectors, meeting in extraordinary session, agreed to ask the DEMRE, the CRUCH Technical Advisory Committee and the Technical Counterpart of the Pearson report to prepare reports analyzing the conclusions of the international study.<\/p>\n<p>With this input, the Council of Rectors will propose changes to improve aspects relevant to the university admissions process.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the university presidents received the Minister of Education, Harald Beyer, who presented his proposal for changes to the institutional framework of the admissions system.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) agreed, within the framework of its extraordinary plenary session, to commission three reports for March 28th in order to evaluate the course to follow regarding the improvements that could be applied to the University Selection Tests (PSU).<\/p>\n<p>The reports will be prepared by the Department of Educational Evaluation, Measurement and Registration (DEMRE) of the University of Chile, the CRUCH Technical Advisory Committee and the Technical Counterpart of the international evaluation of the PSU.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe results will be analyzed at the next CRUCH session to see what changes are feasible to apply in the short, medium and long term and subsequently make the necessary proposals to improve the instrument, thinking about what is best for students and their families,\u201d said the alternate vice president of the Council of Rectors, Sergio Lavanchy.<\/p>\n<p>In the same session, the Council of Rectors received the Minister of Education, Harald Beyer, who presented his proposal for a new institutional framework for the Admissions System. The Council of Rectors agreed to analyze the Minister&#039;s proposal in order to formulate its own position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know we need to strengthen the institutional framework of the admissions system, and we have already been discussing this issue within the Council of Rectors.
