The visit was organized by the International Relations Committee, chaired by the rector of the Austral University of Chile, V\u00edctor Cubillos, in order to promote cooperation between both organizations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Within the framework of the agreement signed between the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities and the Group of Eight<\/em>The Australian Association of Universities, an organization that brings together the eight leading universities with excellence in research and development, organized a visit to Australia, which aimed to explore opportunities for academic collaboration in the areas of research and undergraduate and postgraduate teaching between both entities.<\/p>\n

The CRUCH \u2013 G\u00b08 agreement seeks to promote collaboration for the internationalization of higher education, facilitating the exchange of information and bringing together the scientific and academic communities of the parties.<\/p>\n

The visit was organized by the International Relations Committee, chaired by the rector of the Austral University of Chile, V\u00edctor Cubillos, inviting all the rectors of the Council and establishing a program of activities in Australia in coordination with the executive management of the Group of Eight<\/em>. The program included participation in the quarterly session of the presidents of Australian universities, which was scheduled to take place in the National University of Australia<\/em> (ANU) located in Canberra.<\/p>\n

The main conclusions of this dialogue can be summarized in the following points:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To promote both English and Spanish as a second language, in order to facilitate academic exchange and collaboration.<\/li>\n
  2. To seek funding that facilitates academic exchange and access to existing opportunities in Chile and Australia.<\/li>\n
  3. Promote bilateral agreements between universities in order to facilitate mobility and the development of research projects.<\/li>\n
  4. To identify areas of interest in research in a precise and more selective manner.<\/li>\n
  5. Organize an annual seminar that facilitates exchange on strategic issues in higher education.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The program included visits to six Australian universities: Sydney University, University of New South Wales, National University of Australia, Melbourne University, Monash University<\/em> Y Queensland University,<\/em><\/p>\n

    At the same time, participation was organized in Australian International Education Conference<\/em> (AIEC), Melbourne 2012), in a panel on Chile with the participation of Rector V\u00edctor Cubillos as a panelist.<\/p>\n

    The conference explored the international role in the development of education and research in the 21st century. While the focus was on cooperative relationships with Asia, the potential for collaboration with other regions was also examined. The event was structured as a global dialogue, featuring panels addressing policy issues and concrete practices.<\/p>\n

    In the panel on Chile, alongside the presentation by Rector Cubillos, there was a presentation by the University of Queensland and the cooperative relationship with Chilean universities, and finally an intervention by a Chilean student from Becas Chile.<\/p>\n

    The program included a visit to QUESTACOM, an institution located in Canberra focused on the dissemination and training of science for children and young people.<\/p>\n
