{"id":1189,"date":"2012-08-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-08-16T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2022-01-24T19:46:18","modified_gmt":"2022-01-24T19:46:18","slug":"603c6d8071afd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consejoderectores.cl\/en\/2012\/08\/16\/603c6d8071afd\/","title":{"rendered":"CRUCH and UNIFI meet at FORUM II Chile \u2013 Finland"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<div>Teacher training in Finland, international offerings in education, and science and technology policies, among other topics in Higher Education, will be analyzed by rectors from Chile and Finland.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Finnish delegation will also visit the CRUCH universities located in Antofagasta, Valdivia and Valpara\u00edso.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Next Monday, August 20, representatives from the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) and the Universities of Finland (UNIFI) will meet for the second time at the Chile-Finland Forum II. The main objective is to hold a forum to exchange information about their respective educational models, experiences, and the future of higher education in each country, as well as to continue collaborative projects that began at the first Forum, held last April in Helsinki, which was attended by a delegation of rectors from the Council.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The event will feature presentations characterizing the Higher Education systems in both countries, teacher training in Finland, international offerings in education, and science and technology policies, with a focus on possible future collaborations between the Higher Education institutions of CRUCH and those of UNIFI.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After a long day on Monday, the Finnish university rectors will split into three groups for three regional visits. One delegation will travel to Antofagasta, where they will visit the Paranal Observatory and the University of Antofagasta, and the Catholic University of the North, where they will meet with academics to discuss mining, astronomy, and education.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Another group will be hosted by the Austral University in Valdivia, where possibilities for academic collaboration will be explored, and a third group will travel to Valpara\u00edso, where their priority interests are biotechnology at the Federico Santa Mar\u00eda Technical University and the Catholic University of Valpara\u00edso, and the areas of education and social sciences at the University of Playa Ancha and the University of Valpara\u00edso.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Back in Santiago they will visit three universities in the metropolitan region: the University of Chile, the Catholic University and the University of Santiago, where they will meet with rectors, deans and students, touring some of their respective faculties.<\/div>\n<h4>Forum I<\/h4>\n<div>The first meeting took place in April of last year in the city of Helsinki, where a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between both organizations, establishing the basis for mutual academic cooperation.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>At that meeting, the Finns explained in their presentations topics such as educational reform and the internationalization of UNIFI universities, in addition to addressing more global issues such as financing, current trends in higher education, quality assurance and curriculum development.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Formaci\u00f3n de profesores en Finlandia, oferta internacional en educaci\u00f3n y pol\u00edticas de ciencia y tecnolog\u00eda, entre otros temas de Educaci\u00f3n Superior ser\u00e1n analizados por rectores de Chile y Finlandia.
