The important thing is to help all students with good academic performance, regardless of their socioeconomic status.\u00bb.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At the monthly plenary session of the Council of Rectors \u2013 held today at the Federico Santa Mar\u00eda Technical University \u2013 the weighting percentage and the formula that will be used to calculate the Grade Ranking as an additional factor to the university selection process were decided.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the spokesperson for CRUCH, Rector Juan Manuel Zolezzi, reiterated the importance of the ranking as a significant element in the issue of inclusion. \u201cThe ranking places students on equal footing. The important thing is to help all students with good academic performance, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Now, it must be clear that it is one more factor added to the other weighting factors, and it is a gradual process; it is not something that is defined today and then never done again. Modifications must be made in the future,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the ranking weighting, it will have a value of 10% with a variable weighting based on High School Grades (NEM) and University Selection Tests (PSU), considering that the sum of grades and ranking cannot be less than 20%. According to Rector Zolezzi himself, \u201cthe weighting will be 10%, freely distributed by the different universities across their various programs, reducing the weighting of the PSU or the NEM. Absolute freedom was given to the different universities in this regard.\u201d.<\/p>\n<h4>Grade Ranking Calculation<\/h4>\n<p>In consideration of how the ranking would be calculated, a solution was agreed that, as CTA representative Jorge Manzi said, &quot;preserves the fact that no one is harmed with respect to the score they could have obtained today with the NEM.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>To calculate the ranking, the grades of the three previous graduating classes of the school will be considered.
