{"id":1133,"date":"2011-11-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-11-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-11-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2011-11-24T00:00:00","slug":"603c6d806f1e4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consejoderectores.cl\/en\/2011\/11\/24\/603c6d806f1e4\/","title":{"rendered":"Board of Rectors Elects New Executive Vice President"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;\u2022<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre\">\t<\/span>Rector of the Usach, Juan Manuel Zolezzi will lead the entity during the period 2011-2013.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;In today&#039;s plenary session, the Council of Rectors elected as the new Executive Vice President the current rector of the University of Santiago, Juan Manuel Zolezzi, and the rector of the University of Concepci\u00f3n, Sergio Lavanchy, as alternate Vice President.<\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>In this way, the new Executive Committee of the Council of Rectors will be constituted by the new executive vice president, the alternate vice president, the rector of the Universidad del B\u00edo-B\u00edo, H\u00e9ctor Gaete, the rector of the University of Tarapac\u00e1, Emilio Rodr\u00edguez, the rector from the Austral University, V\u00edctor Cubillos and the rector of the Catholic University, Ignacio S\u00e1nchez. To them will be added whoever is chosen as the new president of the Consortium of State Universities instead of the rector Zolezzi.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The election of a new Executive Vice President is carried out every two years according to the statutes of the Council of Rectors and, therefore, the new Executive Committee will head the entity in the period 2011-2013.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The rector of the University of Chile, V\u00edctor P\u00e9rez, leaves his post after leading the Council of Rectors for two consecutive periods, according to the maximum period established by the regulations.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\u201cI assume this responsibility with great enthusiasm and honor.
