{"id":1100,"date":"2011-04-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-04-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2022-01-28T01:20:13","modified_gmt":"2022-01-28T01:20:13","slug":"603c6d806da74","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consejoderectores.cl\/en\/2011\/04\/28\/603c6d806da74\/","title":{"rendered":"Council of Rectors announces dates for the 2011 PSU exams"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>\u00a0The Council of Rectors announced that the University Selection Tests (PSU) will be held throughout the country on November 28 and 29.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, the traditional schedule for administering the test is resumed, the administration of which was modified in an extraordinary way in 2010, due to the earthquake and subsequent tsunami of February 27.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>The decision was adopted within the framework of the plenary session of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) in conjunction with the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC), which took place this Thursday in the city of Punta Arenas, with the participation of the rectors of the main 25 traditional universities in the country.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Thus, the University Selection Tests (PSU) will be administered on November 28 and 29.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThis date does not interrupt school activities, avoids conflicts with Christmas and New Year&#039;s dates, and allows the enrollment process to close in mid-January. Therefore, the Ministry of Education and the Council of Rectors agreed that it is the best period for administering the PSU,\u201d stated Rector V\u00edctor P\u00e9rez, Executive Vice President of CRUCH.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Council of Rectors also agreed on the terms of the letter they will send to private universities inviting them to participate in the admissions system. In this regard, Rector P\u00e9rez specified that for private universities to join the traditional admissions system, they must meet four basic requirements: disclose the number of places available for each program, their admission weighting factors, cut-off scores, and any special admissions procedures.
