To provide a conceptual basis and the necessary expertise in statistics to pursue doctoral studies in the area of Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology and\/or Public Health<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"postulante\">\n<h6>Applicant Profile<\/h6>\n<p>1.- Academic degree of Bachelor or professional title whose level, content and duration of studies correspond to an equivalent training to that of the Bachelor&#039;s degree at the University of Chile.<br \/>\n2.- Proficiency in English at the level of reading comprehension.<br \/>\n3.- Commitment to dedicate time to the schedule requested by the program.<br \/>\n4.- In order to evaluate the knowledge, skills and requirements of applicants in the disciplines of the Program, the Academic Committee may arrange for an interview, exam or other mechanisms that allow objective verification of their level of preparation.\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"postulante\">\n<h6>Graduate profile<\/h6>\n<p>The Program seeks to develop in its students the necessary skills for excellent performance in teaching Biostatistics at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in research in health and biological sciences, and in consulting related to technical assistance projects.<br \/>\n1.- In the generic area, the student acquires the skills to perform or establish:<br \/>\n The relationship of the concepts of statistical inference with the use of statistical software as a calculation tool.<br \/>\n The relationship between the concepts of epidemiology and statistical inference.<br \/>\n The relationship of concepts in the biological area with statistical analysis and the synthesis of results.<br \/>\n2. In the area of interpersonal skills, the student acquires the ability to:<br \/>\nForm multidisciplinary research teams.<br \/>\nCommunicate with experts in other areas.<br \/>\nAppreciate diversity in research in the area of health and biological sciences.<br \/>\nWorking in an international context.<br \/>\n3. In the area of systemic competencies, the student acquires the ability to:<br \/>\nApply knowledge to current problems in public health and biological sciences.<br \/>\nInvestigate new situations arising from previous research conducted in populations.<br \/>\nAdapting to new situations.<br \/>\nTo exercise leadership in teaching and research work teams.<br \/>\nWorking independently.<br \/>\nTaking on new challenges in the creation of teaching projects or in the participation of new research projects.<br \/>\nManage projects.<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"investigacion\">\n<h6>Lines of investigation<\/h6>\n<p>The research lines of the Program&#039;s academics are embedded in three areas of development, which correspond to:<br \/>\n1. Statistical Inference,<br \/>\n2.- Epidemiology and Environmental Health<br \/>\n3.
